Sacred Union

It was a heartbeat
worth waiting for,
because it was
sent from heaven

Waiting while
the trauma
left adrift,

Healed and
reconciled,
when the heart
said I was ready.

Believing that
it was worth the
wait, the anticipation
aroused the
precipice of the
soul.

Realizing the
depths of the
heart that
that endured
so much–

Every moment,
was shared
with understanding
and compassion.

Foundation of trust,
was built from the start
when eyes laid reconnected–

It unfolded
simple and delightful

Courageous enough
to sustain
any deception–

No distraction
nor any illusion
but pure
honesty —

It was worth
the wait–
thankful for
all that will
come from
this union–
