The Warmth of Self-care

Season has
taught one
to not set
yourself on
fire in order
to keep others
warm

If it was
further from
the truth

Demonstrating
the power of
that doesn’t
work for me
at the present
moment

Have more
pressing things
to cater to–

And simply
exercising
the value of
self-care

Reaching out
when it
most necessary

Boundaries
have never
been so
self-assuring

Wisdom of
the wise

Closed for
today–

Incremental
steps allow
for the flow
of things
to manifest

Nothing happens
over night, so
take this time
to plant a tree,
cut the grass,
wash the dishes
and allow the
sweet nothings
embrace the
morning breeze

Remember
to replenish
as one conquers
and set sights
to new frontiers

Without the
nuances of
distractions
that will not
engage with
the prosperity
of development
