It dawned on me
like a ton of bricks
that the landscape
was everchanging
Transitioning like
the flow of the
Osun river
Releasing and
reflecting in the
midst of initiation
Manifesting during
the metaphysical and
physical
Rejecting the old
and initiating the
power of the
ancestors
As the horse
led the path
and courageously
resting in the
strength of
the wind
A pathway to
power before
galloping upon
the winds of
the destiny
As the stallion
represented the
power to lead one
to power–
A sacred pipe
of Mother Earth,
humbled ones
shared significance
of wisdom
While illuminating
and teaching the
bespoke of the
great spirit
Gifts were awarded on
the journey with the
great stallion
Dignified in its
presence
Like the beauty
and glory of the
unified family of
humanity
As the whirling
rainbow shinning
on the peak of the
mountain and where
one can find solidity
of the majestic earth
A relationship so
profound–
The great horse
and one’s engagement
A discovery that
only the enlightened
can understand
Just like the
fine bull that
harvest the
land and dancing
in the rhythm of
understanding of
shared power
Free and fleeting
like the wind
Leaping forward
as the horse led
the path
A discovery the
mighty can
manifest
Power to run
across the open
plains
While dancing
in the purple
rain of illumination
As initiation continues
with a great friend
of the mighty horse
and the bull–
Determined,
focus and disciplined
has one shedding all
As the engine of the
horsepower emerges
and strength of
bull catapult one’s
destiny into new
frontier of wisdom
Leading one to
reach the everlasting
heights of the eagle
of life
As one remains quiet
it’s important to
move accordingly
and paying respect
to one’s ancestors
They chose one
to take the lead–
Leadership is earned
and never taken for granted
And with great responsibility
to cut ties, start afresh, and
make decisions that warrant
no approval–
May one continue
into the great plains
of the mountains
where mysteries are
treasured by the
select few and honored
by the ancestors
Thank you for
formidable journey
which makes one
stronger, and makes
the award more
gratifying–
