dawn of freedom

It took a moment
to capture the
lonely grief

Search high
And low

And no one
could place
a stamp on
this heart

Saxophone had
one enthralled
the purification
of a broken heart

But a breakthrough
came like the
storm that hit
last night while
sleeping

I remember when
it all happened

Sound asleep
and basking in
the dreams
of the powerful

Don’t take it for granted
as you search and
high and low

Nursing the dreams
keepers smile

Grief was long
and swift

Like the love
that you once
pronounced
but I knew it
was a fable

It took time
to take me in

But it was worth
tears, because
it teaches one
that love still
exist

And wounds
still, heal

But never a
fools cry when
disguising as
the candle to
save one
from the inferno

Learned that
the misty eyes
was a mere
distraction

As one reaches
new heights
use it as fuel

Because the
truth always
come to light

Like the moon
will turn to
sun

May one’s heart
find solace and
peace

It is where you
find the treasures
of breaking the
fractured souls
of the past

Never lose sight
in the power of
finding closure
like your ancestors
are requesting to
do, to break the
chains—

Free at last,
is the cry they
are asking of you—

Tired of tears
and vicious cycles
of endless sadness—
