first kiss of joy

Embraced by the quiet dawn,
I confidently release the chains of yesterday,
unclasp the weight of the past,
and boldly step into the tender arms of now

For the first time, I feel the sun’s kiss,
soft as a whisper on my skin,
a warmth that seeps into my soul,
melting the frost of forgotten dreams

I let go—oh, how I let go,
of all that once held me bound,
and in that sacred surrender,
I find the joy that was always mine

Like the sweet thrill of a first kiss,
the world unfolds in endless hues,
each moment a bloom, a breath,
a dance of light upon my lips.

I taste the nectar of the present,
a flavor so pure, so divine,
and in this fleeting, precious second,
I am whole, I am free, I am alive

For joy, like love, needs no reason,
no promise of what’s to come,
it exists in the here, the now,
in the beating heart of this moment

So I release, and I receive,
the joy of just being,
and in that tender, timeless space,
I find the first kiss of forever
