When the world turned its back,
and the echoes of indifference filled the air,
You, my ancestors, stood firm—
A constellation of wisdom in the velvet night
I stumbled, seeking hands that never reached,
eyes that never softened,
love that was always conditional,
but you, oh sacred lineage,
held me in the unseen,
wrapped me in the warmth of your eternal embrace
Your whispers wove a tapestry of strength,
“Child, you are enough,” you murmured,
In the rhythm of the wind,
In the rustle of leaves,
In the dance of flames that ignited my soul anew
No longer bound by the chains of approval,
I shed the skin of people-pleasing,
like a serpent reborn,
my scales now gleam with the light of liberation
You taught me to walk with hips swaying to the beat of my own drum,
to laugh, to love, to revel in my being—
unapologetically sexy,
a force of nature,
a storm wrapped in silk
Joy flows through me now,
a sacred river carved by your hands,
its waters sparkling with bliss,
it’s currently carrying me to freedom
I see you in the stars,
feel you in the sun’s caress,
hear you in the melody of my own voice,
strong, sacred, and sure
I honor you with every step,
every breath,
every smile that blooms from my lips.
for when the world could not,
you did
And now, I rise—
confident, radiant,
drenched in the divinity of your love,
and the power of my own—
