I am calling in
lavender love.
The kind that arrives
like dusk over calm water,
soft purple light
resting on the sea
without asking
for applause.
The kind that smells
like peace,
clean linen,
warm tea,
salt air,
and a nervous system
finally minding
It’s blessed business.
Smooth sailing, please.
Let the waters be clear.
Let the lavender bloom
along the shoreline
of my spirit.
No rancor
dressed in concern.
No antiquated drama
boarding the boat
in good shoes
for the family gathering.
No performative acts
of kindness
served beside the macaroni
as if we did not all see
the fallacies
floating in the gravy.
Let us be candid.
We do not do fake sweetness
for public consumption.
We do not clap
for insincerity
because someone remembered
to bring dessert.
Very nice pie, beloved.
Still no.
Lavender love
does not sail
into counterfeit harbors.
It does not appease
what is not authentic.
It does not shrink
so dysfunction
can keep pretending
it is tradition.
No, thank you.
I choose the copious peace
of honest rooms
and honest tides.
I choose cogency
over confusion.
I choose vitality
over obligation.
I choose people
whose kindness has integrity
even when no one
is recording.
May every non-authentic spirit
be filtered out
like sand
from clean water.
May every gathering
be washed free
of performance.
May every table
make room
for truth,
laughter,
healing,
and love
that does not arrive
wearing a costume.
I am not bitter.
I am lavendered.
Soft as bloom,
steady as tide.
Open,
but not susceptible.
Loving,
but fluent
in boundaries.
So let the sea behave.
Let the waters calm.
Let the lavender wind
move through the sails.
Let the right people
arrive with clean hands,
clear intentions,
and hearts that know
how to dock gently.
And let me sail forward,
fragrant with peace,
brilliant with discernment,
and far too luminous
to entertain
anything counterfeit–
